Amir Offers Bonfiglioli Range Of Gearboxes

Amir Power Transmission is offering fanless electric motors for use in harsh environments such as carwashes, and motors with stainless-steel brake components, for use in access cradles. It can also offer braked motors with hand releases - designed for specific applications such as the lift industry - and motors with integrated inverters. Amir's range of electric motors from 56 to 225 IEC frames also includes Atex EEx d IIB/IIC T3/T6 motors, along with explosion-proof brake motors.

Its range of fractional horse-power geared motors, ranging from 6 to 150W, in-line and right-angle options, are available from stock. Single phase, three phase, DC and variable-speed versions are all available. These can be used as alternatives to Parvalux, Panasonic, Oriental Motors and Dunkermotoren, which in some cases are direct replacements. Along with the new Bonfiglioli Agile inverters, Amir offers inverters with 110V input and 240V output, giving the manufacturer of machines being exported to US/Canada the possibility to fit one standard motor for US and European production with the possibility to supply the appropriate inverter.

When selecting the proper fuse for short circuit protection in motor starting applications, it is important to not only ensure that the fuse will not nuisance open during motor start up times, but also that the fuse will coordinate as required with overload relays. When sizing fuses between 125% and 150% of the motor nameplate current, several advantages, including ease of coordination with an overload device, a smaller disconnect, and increased short circuit protection from a lower fuse rating, can be achieved.
