Casella To Distribute RAE Portable Gas Detectors

Industrial hygiene equipment manufacturer Casella CEL has signed a distributorship agreement for RAE Systems, expanding its portfolio of workplace noise, dust and vapours monitoring equipment. RAE's products are said to complement Casella CEL's expertise in the field of gas detection with a range of portable gas detectors for personal monitoring of toxic and flammable gas hazards.

The range includes the ToxiRAE single-gas personal detector, which has a fast response time; the EntryRAE personal gas monitor for hazardous confined space entry; a four-gas detector that includes a photoionisation detector (PID) to monitor volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and a range of bespoke PIDs, including the MiniRAE, a handheld real-time VOC detector.

When selecting the proper fuse for short circuit protection in motor starting applications, it is important to not only ensure that the fuse will not nuisance open during motor start up times, but also that the fuse will coordinate as required with overload relays. When sizing fuses between 125% and 150% of the motor nameplate current, several advantages, including ease of coordination with an overload device, a smaller disconnect, and increased short circuit protection from a lower fuse rating, can be achieved.
