Control Valves Simplify Hydraulic Operations

Parker Hannifin has launched a series of proportional directional control valves featuring integrated electronics, designed to simplify hydraulic operations. The D*FB series valves, which are said to be simple to install, are intended to help both original equipment manufacturers and end users to improve productivity and profitability. The built-in electronics lower manufacturing tolerances while ensuring that all valves perform identically in serial applications.

This makes the replacement of a valve in the middle of a night shift, for instance, a simple operation. The D*FB valves are supplied with preset factory parameter values, which can be modified via the onboard electronics using Parker's free-of-charge ProPxD software. The software makes it simple to change, store and load parameter settings to any number of valves or return to the default settings with one click of the mouse.

The ProPxD software also incorporates a basic diagnostic function for additional data analyses and offers users the benefits of simple configuration and less downtime through the copy-and-paste function for parameter sets, according to the company. Controlled by external electronics, the hydraulic performance of the D*FB valves is said to provide low hysteresis and high repeatability. Available with a spool/sleeve or a spool/body design, the D*FB valves are sized NG06 (CETOP03) and NG10 (CETOP05) and operate off command signals of +/-10VDC or 4-20mA. The new valves are backed by Parker's global network of manufacturing, sales and customer support centres.
