Eplan Data Portal Speeds Up Device Administration

Rittal has announced that the new version of the Eplan Data Portal is now online with functions that accelerate the organisation and administration of devices and components. Search and administration functions are intended to facilitate use and speed up the engineering process. In practice, designing becomes more efficient with the selection of component and device data. Smart filters, for example, now allow the storage of all the filter schemes as individual search patterns.

These can be called up repeatedly, saving time. Also available is keyword tagging with corresponding catchword parts. Whether by purpose of use, procurement or project name, parts can now be grouped and organised. Through the new display of the manufacturer tree structure, component data can be searched for in accordance with the catalogue structure. The user inserts the data into the project without paging or manual transfer. When co-operation is required, working groups can be formed to design together on the basis of a uniform parts database. A group administrator defines the filter and part selection so that only parts approved for the project can be selected. A new accessory management with jump function shows the suitable accessory devices for the selected main devices and vice versa.

A new macro preview in the Eplan Data Portal shows which macros are available for the respective device or part. Complete macros from PLC devices, measuring transducers or frequency converters can be imported specifically into the project. Integrated connection diagrams and function templates ensure the exact representation of complex devices and components, ensuring a smooth interconnection and preparing the data for use in the process.
