Fixed-Frequency Synthesiser Has Low Phase Noise

Z-Communications has announced the RoHS-compliant fixed-frequency synthesiser model SFS3900A-LF in S-band, which is suitable for applications such as satellite communication and microwave radio. The SFS3900A-LF single-frequency synthesiser operates at 3,900MHz. It features a typical phase noise of -88dBc/Hz at 10KHz offset and typical sideband spurs of -65dBc.

The SFS3900A-LF is designed to deliver a typical output power of 3dBm with a VCO voltage supply of 5V DC, while drawing 33mA (typical) and a phase-locked loop voltage of 3V DC and drawing 15mA (typical) over the temperature range of -40C to 85C. This fixed-frequency synthesiser features typical second harmonic suppression of -20dBc and comes in Z-Comm's industry-standard PLL-V12N package measuring 0.60in x 0.60in x 0.13in. It is available in tape and reel packaging for production requirements. The SFS3900A-LF is also suitable for automated surface-mount assembly and reflow.
