Gyroscope Has Near Tactical-Grade Bias Stability

Typical applications for VTI's SCR1100 gyroscope include inertial measurement units (IMUs), platform control and stabilisation, motion analysis control, as well as guidance and navigation systems. The SCR1100 gyroscope has near tactical-grade bias stability, vibration robustness and excellent noise performance, according to VTI. It is said to provide high performance in a small DIL package and is suitable for applications in industrial, agricultural, defence and avionics sectors.

All SCR1100 gyroscopes have a temperature range of -40C to +125C and angular rate output (digital SPI) is temperature compensated. SCR1100-D02 gyro bias stability (Allan variance) is below 1deg/h and bias accuracy over full temperature range is <+/-0.6deg/s. The sensors can resist mechanical shocks and vibrations, allowing operation in demanding applications. Component dimensions are 18.65mm x 8.5mm x 4.53mm (length x width x height). The component versions are SCR1100-D02 (+/-100deg/s) and SCR100-D04 (+/-300deg/s). Sample quantities are available immediately with mass production during the second half of this year.
