Inertial Offers Sensor For Measuring Axis Movement
Inertial Aerosystems has launched a miniature Quartz Dual Axis Rate Sensor (QDARS), manufactured by Systron Donner. Designated QRS28, it is designed to measure angular movement in two orthogonal axes. Suitable for military and demanding commercial uses where stabilisation of moving or vibrating platforms is an issue, it has simple DC to DC operation using two of Systron Donner's MEMS gyrochip rate sensors.
This product has no moving parts and is contained in a hermetically sealed stainless-steel cylinder, for use in hostile environments and where high reliability is required. The QRS28, which measures 26.7 x 18mm and weighs 20g, is suitable for use in applications where space and weight are at a premium. It has power consumption of less than 0.5W (at 5V DC) with low noise and a temperature range of -55 to 85C.
