Laser Modules Suit Machine Vision And Inspection

Stemmer Imaging and Z-Laser are offering laser modules that have applications in machine vision, industrial inspection, metrology, medical engineering, biophotonics, fluorescence and spectroscopy. The companies have expanded their distribution agreement to include Stemmer's entire European network. Z-Laser offers a portfolio of lasers and laser modules with a choice of wavelengths (405-1,064nm), output power (up to 5,000mW) and external modulation (up to 20MHz).

IP67 rated housings and industrial mountings and connectors make them ideally suited for use in harsh industrial environments. A choice of line generation technology (gaussian, microarray or powell) and laser projection patterns (multi lines, dot matrices, crosses, circles and so on) together with microfocus capabilities add to the versatility. Z-Laser recently launched the ZQ high-performance green laser with output powers up to 300mW.

When selecting the proper fuse for short circuit protection in motor starting applications, it is important to not only ensure that the fuse will not nuisance open during motor start up times, but also that the fuse will coordinate as required with overload relays. When sizing fuses between 125% and 150% of the motor nameplate current, several advantages, including ease of coordination with an overload device, a smaller disconnect, and increased short circuit protection from a lower fuse rating, can be achieved.
