LCM Compression Load Cells Suit Lab Or Outdoor Use

The CPA Series of compression load cells from LCM Systems is suitable for use in laboratories and in permanent outdoor applications, particularly in centre-of-gravity weighing or heavy-lifting tasks. Constructed entirely of stainless steel, the compression load cells are also suitable for general applications. All standard cells are available with a rated load range from 2 tonnes to 1,000 tonnes and are environmentally sealed to IP67.

The company can supply a variety of special options, including a domed top, with or without a loading cap, integral carrying handles, mounting bases, integral connectors and internal analogue/digital signal amplifiers. Versions of these load cells are available for use as calibration standards and they can be supplied either as standalone components or together with instrumentation such as LCM Systems' strain-gauge amplifiers, portable and panel-mounted load cell indicators and controllers.

When selecting the proper fuse for short circuit protection in motor starting applications, it is important to not only ensure that the fuse will not nuisance open during motor start up times, but also that the fuse will coordinate as required with overload relays. When sizing fuses between 125% and 150% of the motor nameplate current, several advantages, including ease of coordination with an overload device, a smaller disconnect, and increased short circuit protection from a lower fuse rating, can be achieved.
