Power Meter Rentable For Measurement Applications

ATEC has announced immediate rental availability of the Yokogawa WT230 Digital Power Meter for measurement applications ranging from low-frequency equipment to high-frequency inverters. The WT230 handles standby low-power measurements and rated power measurements. Low-frequency measurements starting at 0.5Hz can be used with evaluations of cycloconverter or when a motor is started.

This three-phase digital power meter captures a variety of signal types, including: surge-current and maximum-load state, half-wave rectification, intermittent control, distortion waves, noisy signals and constantly changing signals. The WT230 is most commonly employed for extended energy measurement, intermittent control equipment and battery equipment applications.

When selecting the proper fuse for short circuit protection in motor starting applications, it is important to not only ensure that the fuse will not nuisance open during motor start up times, but also that the fuse will coordinate as required with overload relays. When sizing fuses between 125% and 150% of the motor nameplate current, several advantages, including ease of coordination with an overload device, a smaller disconnect, and increased short circuit protection from a lower fuse rating, can be achieved.
