Procter Updates Machinery-Guarding Standards Guide

Procter Machine Guarding has updated 'On Your Guard - A Designer's Guide to Machinery Guarding Standards', following the introduction of the new Machinery Directive. This seventh edition explains the current machinery safety regulations and their relationship with the European Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, which came into force on 29 December 2009. The guide outlines the requirements relating to CE marking of machinery and guarding.

At the heart of the guide is an extensive table of British, European and international standards relating to machine guarding; this table has been brought up to date in the seventh edition of the guide to guarding standards. Additional changes include a revised list of useful resources that encompasses a guide to the new Machinery Directive, a risk-assessment calculator, a safety distance calculator and white papers.

The list of sources of further information has also been updated to reflect recent changes to contact details. 'On Your Guard - A Designer's Guide to Machinery Guarding Standards' is essential reading for anyone responsible for specifying, designing, installing or maintaining machine guards.
