Single-board computer for visual inspection tasks

Axiomtek has introduced the SHB103 PICMG 1.3 single-board computer, designed to provide an all-in-one embedded solution for gaming, digital signage, DVR, industrial automation and more. The SHB103 PICMG 1.3 single-board computer is designed for the Intel Core i7, Core i5 and Core i3 and Pentium (G6950) processors with LGA1156 socket. Incorporating Intel Q57 Express chipset, the SHB103 powered by the Intel Core i7, i5 and i3 processors supports Intel Turbo Boost technology, Intel Hyper-Threading technology (Intel HT technology), Quickpath, 8GB DDR3 1066/1333 memory, and PCI Express 2.0 x16 slot.

The high C/P value single-board computer with rich application interfaces and flexible I/O connections is an all-in-one embedded solution for gaming, digital signage appliance, digital video recorder, industrial automation, visual inspection instrument, NC machine and more. Joseph Chou, product manager of embedded board and technology business unit at Axiomtek, said: 'The SHB103 is a mainstream platform designed for the new Intel Core i7/i5/i3 processors, which provide extreme computing and high bandwidth with great energy efficiency. 'All three Intel Core vPro processors bring memory and graphics controllers onto the CPUs themselves and offer a Turbo Boost feature and Hyper-Threading technology that can scale the clock speeds up on demand,' he added.

Chou said that the built-in Intel Active Management Technology 6.0 (iAMT 6.0) and Trusted Platform Module 1.2 (TPM 1.2) meets customers' need for enhanced security and easier maintenance. He added that the PICMG 1.3 full-size slot CPU card SHB103 also meets all current requirements for Windows 7. To satisfy increasing demands for data transfer speed, the SHB103 provides 14 USB 2.0 ports and six serial ATA ports integrated RAID 0, 1, 5, 10 function with transfer rates up to 3Gb/s. The PICMG 1.3 single-board computer features I/O ports including two COM ports (one RS232 and one RS232/422/485), dual Gigabit LAN controllers, Displayport, VGA, HD audio, Compactflash and PS/2 keyboard and mouse ports.

The built-in Watchdog Timer (1~255 sec/min) keeps the system running smoothly. The PICMG 1.3 specification brings advantages of PCI Express to this PICMG 1.3 single-board computer that offers four PCI, four PCIe x1 or one PCIe x4 and one PCIe x16 routed to the backplane. The SHB103 is fully compatible with Axiomtek's PICMG 1.3 full-size passive backplanes, and the company offers various industrial housing enclosures and has the capability to assist with customer's industrial integration needs.
