Walter Expands Helicheck Measuring Machine Range

Walter has added an optical measuring machine to the Helicheck range designed for complex profile or form measurements as well as dependable control measurements (diameter, step lengths and so on). With a precision backlight camera and 50- or 100-times magnification, this system is suitable for demanding measuring applications in the diameter range up to 320mm and a maximum length of 420mm (from theoretical gauge line of the machine spindle taper).

Feedback of the measuring enables a reliable and consistent performance of the grinding machines. The fully automatic measurement of grinding wheel sets is also possible. All software packages are directly compatible with the other machines in the Helicheck range. An operating software for manual measurement is also implemented for quick measurement. The Helicheck Basic 2 can be offered with either a length measuring capability E1 = (1.4 + L/300) micron and a repeatability of less than one micron, or with E1 = (2.0 + L/300) micron and a repeatability of less than 1.5 micron as a standard.

When selecting the proper fuse for short circuit protection in motor starting applications, it is important to not only ensure that the fuse will not nuisance open during motor start up times, but also that the fuse will coordinate as required with overload relays.
