Z-Comms Offers VCO For Fixed Wireless Applications

Z-Communications has introduced an RoHS-compliant voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) model, which is suitable for fixed wireless applications that require ultra-low phase noise performance. The SMV3330A-LF in S band operates at 3,300-3,360MHz, with a tuning voltage range of 0.5-2.5VDC, and is also said to be ideal for automated surface-mount assembly and reflow.

This VCO features a typical phase noise of -84dBc/Hz at 10KHz offset and a typical tuning sensitivity of 125MHz/V. The SMV3330A-LF is designed to deliver a typical output power of 5dBm at 3VDC supply while drawing 14mA (typical) over the -5C to +60C temperature range. The VCO features typical second harmonic suppression of -20dBc and comes in Z-Comm's Sub-L package, measuring 0.3 x 0.3 x 0.08in (7.6 x 7.6 x 2mm). It is available in tape and reel packaging for production requirements.
