MIE Maintenance Manages Industry Assets

MIE Solutions has announced the new release of MIE Maintenance asset management software for machine and equipment maintenance and preventative maintenance application. The software is said to help companies in asset-intensive industries maintain their investments by managing these assets. MIE Maintenance handles both maintenance requests and predefined maintenance tasks to notify maintenance teams to perform work. Maintenance requests can be denied or approved.

Once a maintenance request is approved a work order is created to perform the work. The new version includes asset usage and logging, inventory management, purchase order management and a simple-to-use fixed asset reporting. The rich interface uses a ribbon bar, tab controls and other ease-of-use tools to make implementation and training easy for all the users. MIE Maintenance uses the industrial-strength database Microsoft.

SQL Server allowing many simultaneous users to access and maintain their assets. MIE Maintenance can be integrated into MIE Solutions' ERP system to better manage the company assets, repair costs, scheduling and usage of those assets.

FUSE SIZING CONSIDERATIONS FOR HIGHER EFFICIENCY MOTORS

When selecting the proper fuse for short circuit protection in motor starting applications, it is important to not only ensure that the fuse will not nuisance open during motor start up times, but also that the fuse will coordinate as required with overload relays. When sizing fuses between 125% and 150% of the motor nameplate current, several advantages, including ease of coordination with an overload device, a smaller disconnect, and increased short circuit protection from a lower fuse rating, can be achieved.
