Ashcroft Gauges Test Pressure Monitoring Devices

Ashcroft's Type 1082 and 1084 test gauges are suitable for testing or certifying pressure monitoring devices. For field calibration, the 3in (7.6cm) Type 1084 'pocket' test gauge covers ranges to 1,000psi with 0.5 per cent FS (grade 2A) accuracy. A rugged 316 stainless steel case and wetted parts make the Type 1084 the 'go-anywhere' transfer standard.

An optional stainless steel window cover and carry pouch keep the gauge safe during transport. Available in 4.5in, 6in and 8.5in diameters, the Type 1082 provides +/-0.25 per cent FS accuracy (ASME B40.100, grade 3A) in ranges from vacuum through 10,000psi. An external zero adjuster and temperature compensation ensure precision in any environment, while phosphor bronze or Monel wetted parts ensure compatibility with most pressure media.

When selecting the proper fuse for short circuit protection in motor starting applications, it is important to not only ensure that the fuse will not nuisance open during motor start up times, but also that the fuse will coordinate as required with overload relays. When sizing fuses between 125% and 150% of the motor nameplate current, several advantages, including ease of coordination with an overload device, a smaller disconnect, and increased short circuit protection from a lower fuse rating, can be achieved.
