Bench Hardness Tester for Shop-Floor Applications

The new 600 BDL Rockwell scale bench hardness tester from Bowers Metrology can withstand tough shop-floor environments. The manual machine features a rugged construction and a large working capacity, enabling large test specimens to be accommodated. The 600 BDL is able to operate in Rockwell scales A, B, C, D, E, F, G, K, L, M, P, R and V. With a system accuracy conforming to EN-ISO 6508 and ASTM-E18, the tester offers a hardness resolution of 0.1.

The 600 BDL is able to operate under test loads of 60kgf, 100kgf and 150kgf, with available dwell times from 0-30 seconds in five-second steps. An easy-to-read, OLED, full-colour, multi-function display shows a progress bar for preload. Further displayed parameters include preload applied, main load applied, dwell time, invalid reading, invalid measurement, invalid procedure and the Rockwell value scale applied.

Standard delivery includes a range of test anvils, indenters and test blocks, enabling the 600 BDL to undertake accurate Rockwell hardness testing procedures across a range of specimens. To ensure that each potential customer is able to receive a 600 series Rockwell bench hardness tester that matches their specific needs, Bowers is able to supply both a motorised and a Rockwell Superficial Scale variant of its cost-effective new hardness tester.
