CompactPCI PlusIO Backplane for PICMG 2.30

Elma Electronic is offering a CompactPCI PlusIO Backplane compliant to the latest PICMG 2.30 specifications. The first in the series is an eight-slot version in a 3U height. PICMG 2.30 expands the backplane with serial point-to-point connections for high-speed data transfer (PCIe, SATA, USB, Ethernet).

The Elma's eight-slot version offers one CompactPCI PlusIO system slot, four CompactPCI PlusIO peripheral slots and three legacy slots. The system slot has connections for four USB2s, four SATAs, 4 xfour PCIes and two ETHs. The CompactPCI PlusIO Backplane comes in a 3U height with a 12-layer stripline design. Standard FR-4 PCB material was used on the eight-slot backplane and rear IO is supported.

FUSE SIZING CONSIDERATIONS FOR HIGHER EFFICIENCY MOTORS

When selecting the proper fuse for short circuit protection in motor starting applications, it is important to not only ensure that the fuse will not nuisance open during motor start up times, but also that the fuse will coordinate as required with overload relays. When sizing fuses between 125% and 150% of the motor nameplate current, several advantages, including ease of coordination with an overload device, a smaller disconnect, and increased short circuit protection from a lower fuse rating, can be achieved.
