Crystal Suits Wireless-Based Applications

IQD Frequency Products has launched an ultra-miniature four-pad crystal, the IQXC-26, which is housed in a 1.6 x 1.2 x 0.4mm ceramic package that has a seamed and sealed metal lid. This lid is grounded in order to reduce the effects of EMC radiation, making it suitable for use in all wireless-based applications. The IQXC-26 is available at any frequency from 26 to 80MHz, all operating in the fundamental mode.

This frequency range covers the required frequency bands for the majority of RF chipsets. The maximum operating temperature range available is -40 to +85C and frequency stabilities can be as low as +/-10ppm. The IQXC-26 can also be used in medical monitoring equipment, computer peripherals and industrial instrumentation.

When selecting the proper fuse for short circuit protection in motor starting applications, it is important to not only ensure that the fuse will not nuisance open during motor start up times, but also that the fuse will coordinate as required with overload relays. When sizing fuses between 125% and 150% of the motor nameplate current, several advantages, including ease of coordination with an overload device, a smaller disconnect, and increased short circuit protection from a lower fuse rating, can be achieved.
