DC/DC Converter Module Offers Low Ripple and Noise

MSC now offers the 27D-3KV series of 2W DC/DC converter modules from YDS, of which a key feature is an extended temperature range from -40C to 85C with natural convection cooling. Other features of these DC/DC converter modules are 3000VDC input to output isolation, continuous short-circuit protection, low ripple and noise, and remote on/off. The DC/DC converter modules are available as single- or dual-output models and deliver unipolar or bipolar output voltages of 5, 9, 12, 15 and 24V with an accuracy of +/-3 per cent.

Due to precise internal regulation, the stability of each output voltage is +/-0.5 per cent over the four input voltage ranges of 5-9V, 9-18V, 18-36V and 36-72V. A MTBF of 1.5 million hours per MIL-HDBK-217F at 25C underlines the high quality and reliability of these DC/DC converter modules, which are provided in a 21.8 x 9.2 x 11.1mm single in-line package and are RoHS compliant.

When selecting the proper fuse for short circuit protection in motor starting applications, it is important to not only ensure that the fuse will not nuisance open during motor start up times, but also that the fuse will coordinate as required with overload relays.
