ESAB Enhances Oxy-Fuel Cooljet Cutting Torch

ESAB Cutting Systems has further developed its oxy-fuel Cooljet cutting torch to include more features, including the new tool-free cutting nozzle exchange, achieved through the Jetcon system. The Jetcon nozzle retainer provides a double function, and no extra nozzle nut is needed to fix the cutting nozzle system. Nozzle exchange is very fast, and less effort has to be made when setting thanks to the tool-free system.

The lifetime of the Jetcon nozzle retainer is up to eight times longer than conventional outer-sleeve systems, according to the company. The Cooljet Pro is available with an integrated oxygen cooling system, which is claimed to double cutting-torch and nozzle life, providing savings in wear part costs. Thanks to a preheating feature, Cooljet Pro also offers up to 30 per cent higher cutting speeds to improve productivity.

When selecting the proper fuse for short circuit protection in motor starting applications, it is important to not only ensure that the fuse will not nuisance open during motor start up times, but also that the fuse will coordinate as required with overload relays. When sizing fuses between 125% and 150% of the motor nameplate current, several advantages, including ease of coordination with an overload device, a smaller disconnect, and increased short circuit protection from a lower fuse rating, can be achieved.
