Freescale MR-350 for Network-Appliance Application

Lanner Electronics' Freescale-based MR-350 network appliance has high levels of integration and savvy power mechanics to enter a range of network-appliance applications. Using the QorIQ series CPUs, the desktop unit comes with five RJ-45 ports, onboard dual-channel DDR3 memory and NAND Flash Memory for booting and storage. The MR-350 comes equipped with the Freescale P1011/1020, which offers 533 or 800MHz processor performance.

Freescale design and internal technology allow these processors to utilise a multitude of tools to accelerate security protocols. These tools consist of advanced encryption standards, cyclical redundancy checks, data-encryption standard execution, message-digest execution, public key execution and a random number generator. In addition to these tools, Freescale technology is also able to increase information throughput by utilising lossless flow control and enabling Jumbo Frame support.

The platform comes with five RJ-45 LAN ports and is controlled via Marvell 888E6171R Switch. There is 2MB of NOR Flash Memory for booting and 256MB NAND Flash for other storage purposes. Other I/O include one RJ45 Console Port and one USB 2.0 Port. There is an internal real-time clock with its own designated power source. The MR-350 comes with two separate SKUs, depending on which Freescale CPU is needed.
