Machine Evenly Applies Powder and Bulk Coatings

A self-contained, mobile re-circulating Spreader-Feeder machine for delivering even application of powder and bulk coatings onto food products is now available from Flexicon. The unit is positioned with a wire conveyor belt running immediately above its lower collection hopper.

As a uniform curtain of the coating material descends over the items, unused coating falls directly into the collection hopper and is re-circulated via a combination of a centreless auger feeding the intake of a flexible screw conveyor, transferring coatings into a horizontally orientated conveyor with multiple ports that ensure even spread within the discharge hopper.

When selecting the proper fuse for short circuit protection in motor starting applications, it is important to not only ensure that the fuse will not nuisance open during motor start up times, but also that the fuse will coordinate as required with overload relays. When sizing fuses between 125% and 150% of the motor nameplate current, several advantages, including ease of coordination with an overload device, a smaller disconnect, and increased short circuit protection from a lower fuse rating, can be achieved.
