Precision Grinding Manufacturer Uses Lucifer Oven

Lucifer Furnaces has delivered a large tempering batch oven to a manufacturer of precision grinding equipment. The Series 4099 unit features a vertical airflow pattern and wire-on-rod heating elements. A roof-mounted stainless steel belt-driven fan with a heavy-duty motor provides vertical airflow for uniform heat. Coil-wound heating elements mounted on ceramic rods on all side walls provide rapid, energy-efficient heat and are straightforward to replace.

A stainless steel liner serves to baffle the fan and elements so that air is circulated past the heating elements then upwards through the chamber. The 18ft3 chamber is complete with cast alloy roller rails to accommodate a large, heavy load. The furnace is lined with 6.5in of multilayered lightweight insulating firebrick and mineral wool block for maximum heat storage and minimum heat loss.

The furnace has a horizontal swing door with an adjustable latch to ensure a firm brick-to-brick seal. Digital temperature controllers are mounted on a side panel. Powered with 42kW, this heat-treating tempering batch oven reaches 1,400F.
