QA Graphics Launches BAS Symbol Library v3.1

QA Graphics has announced the release of version 3.1 of its 3D symbol library for building automation system (BAS) software. A core part of QA Graphics's business is graphic outsourcing, taking mechanical control drawings and creating system graphics for the end user. It developed the BAS Symbol Library to offer more realistic graphics than typically provided with BAS software. V3.1 is an updated release of the original graphics library.

It allows users to maintain their existing software while accessing high-end graphics to provide their customers with a more aesthetically pleasing user interface. More than 45 new symbols are available with v3.1 and several new categories have been added to offer graphics for fire systems, lighting systems, lab systems and security systems. Symbols include heat pumps, sensors, roof elements for roof-top units, compressors, boilers for popular HVAC equipment providers, and a variety of other symbols needed to create control system graphics.

With the release of v3.1, the BAS Symbol Library provides more than 310 static graphics and more than 95 animated graphics to construct BAS graphics and HVAC graphics. Key symbols include boilers, chillers, dampers, filters, piping, fans, cooling towers, generators, valves, ductwork, coils and more. This allows users to create more than 95 per cent of all mechanical systems. The BAS Symbol Library is compatible with the following systems: Alerton; Andover; Reliable Controls; TAC; Trane; and Tridium.

The library is provided for unlimited use by one physical company location, and may be used by additional locations for a one-time licensing fee. To provide users with graphics that are secure and unique to their business, major equipment components will be watermarked with a three-letter acronym (watermark can be visible or undetectable). For Tridium NiagaraAX users, QA Graphics has developed a BAS Image Module so the library can be licensed on a per-project basis.

Use of the secure graphics can be affordably licensed for NiagaraAX JACE and Supervisor devices. The library is offered at two levels: Commercial, which offers an extensive variety of graphic options, and Lite Commercial, which offers a condensed symbol set. Existing users of QA Graphics's BAS Symbol Library can upgrade to v3.1 for a one-time fee and access all of the updates.
