Quarter-Turn Lock Suits Adverse Environments

FDB has added to its range of IP65 quarter-turn locks with an ultra-low-profile 7-080, which stands just 3mm above the door so eliminating the hazard of clothing entanglement. The 7-080 is suitable for equipment housings, electrical or electronic cabinets and enclosures in the food, pharmaceutical and marine industries where there is either frequent/corrosive wash-down or adverse environmental conditions.

FDB complements its stainless latches with a full catalogue of fittings, including hinges, handles, code entry locks, anti-bacterial finish hardware, standard L and T handles, and electronic locking systems.

When selecting the proper fuse for short circuit protection in motor starting applications, it is important to not only ensure that the fuse will not nuisance open during motor start up times, but also that the fuse will coordinate as required with overload relays. When sizing fuses between 125% and 150% of the motor nameplate current, several advantages, including ease of coordination with an overload device, a smaller disconnect, and increased short circuit protection from a lower fuse rating, can be achieved.
