Rotary Latch Suitable for Marine Applications

The Southco R4-10 stainless steel rotary latch is corrosion resistant and suitable for use in vandal-proof and watertight storage areas. Constructed of 304 grade stainless steel, the R4-10 meets marine requirements in performance and salt spray. The concealed latch enables the flexible styling of the storage compartment area and accommodates misalignment between the latch and the striker bolt. A double-stage latching option provides additional security and functionality.

Stainless steel actuators and cables are available for multipoint latching solutions, and the new 316-grade stainless steel AC-M1 actuator delivers corrosion resistance and enhanced security to tough environments, according to the company. The R4-10 is available in low-minimum-order quantities and features varied strength options to meet a range of application requirements. 'The new R4-10 is designed to withstand the toughest environments and provide enhancements to applications needing an upgraded latching system,' said Manan Patel, product manager.

When selecting the proper fuse for short circuit protection in motor starting applications, it is important to not only ensure that the fuse will not nuisance open during motor start up times, but also that the fuse will coordinate as required with overload relays.
