Samtech to Present Latest S4WT Software Package

Samtech, a specialist in CAE software and advanced FEA modelling technology, will demonstrate its Samcef for Wind Turbines (S4WT) platform at EWEA 2011 on 14-17 March in Brussels, Belgium. According to the company, the system - targeted at the wind energy community - is powerful and user friendly and now includes features dedicated to offshore wind-turbine simulation. Samtech will perform live demonstrations of the new release of S4WT and its specific capabilities for offshore applications.

The company will also present two applications on 16 March 2011, entitled 'Fatigue damage computation of a composite material blade using a mixed non-linear FEM and Super Element approach' and 'Numerical simulation of offshore wind turbines by a coupled aerodynamic, hydrodynamic and structural dynamic approach'. Visitors, customers and partners will have the opportunity to ask questions and interact with the Samtech team, which will be found on Stand 11,204 in Hall 11.

S4WT can be used at different levels in the wind-turbine engineering process. The software package is delivered with predefined IEC-61400 design load cases and parameterised start-up models, which also include the most common gearbox-based powertrain concepts, as well as advanced direct-drive wind-turbine models.
