Software Presents Products in Local Languages

Aspen Technology has released new local-language versions of manufacturing and supply chain products in the 7.2 release of Aspenone V7 software, to enable customers to train employees faster. Local language versions are now available for Aspen PIMS, Aspen Petroleum Scheduler, Aspen Plant Scheduler, Aspen IP.21 Process Browser and other products in the Aspenone Manufacturing and Supply Chain suite.

These localised products join a large portfolio of Aspenone Engineering and Aspenone Manufacturing and Supply Chain products already available in local languages. Local language Aspenone software makes it possible for Aspentech customers to train employees faster and standardise their operations on Aspenone to achieve superior financial and operating results. Local language versions of Aspenone products are available in Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish, in addition to English. Aspentech customers may download language packs for the localised products from the Aspentech Support Centre.

FUSE SIZING CONSIDERATIONS FOR HIGHER EFFICIENCY MOTORS

When selecting the proper fuse for short circuit protection in motor starting applications, it is important to not only ensure that the fuse will not nuisance open during motor start up times, but also that the fuse will coordinate as required with overload relays. When sizing fuses between 125% and 150% of the motor nameplate current, several advantages, including ease of coordination with an overload device, a smaller disconnect, and increased short circuit protection from a lower fuse rating, can be achieved.
