Stemmer Releases Latest Manta GigE Vision Cameras

Stemmer Imaging has announced that AVT has added a new camera to each end of its range of Manta GigE Vision cameras, which can be used for inspection and automation, logistics and traffic monitoring. Available in both monochrome and colour variants, AVT has developed 5-megapixel and VGA-resolution (0.33-megapixel) cameras. Also new for the entire range is the modular concept, which includes a Power over Ethernet (PoE) option.

The colour versions of the cameras include colour interpolation/colour correction functions. The 5-megapixel version features the sensitive 2/3in Sony ICX655 Super-HAD CCD sensor. Its high-resolution performance makes it suitable for healthcare, medical, scientific and research applications as well as high-resolution industrial imaging. The 0.33-megapixel version utilises a 1/2in Sony ICX414 sensor with especially high light sensitivity and runs at 88fps at full resolution. This camera is also said to be useful for machine vision and semiconductor applications. For even more flexibility, all Manta models are now offered with optional housing variations from the AVT modular concept.

The new, optional PoE version will be available for all models in the range. PoE enables the Gigabit Ethernet interface cable to supply the camera with power as well as carrying the image data, removing the need for an additional power supply and cable. Other options include angled-head versions for more easily mounting the camera into small spaces. A board-level version with no housing and a 200mm connection between the sensor and the main board is also available, while a white medical design housing is available for scientific and medical applications.
