Surface-Measuring Systems Target Production Areas

Mahr has expanded its range of surface-measuring systems with the Marsurf M 400 skidless instrument, which enables highly precise measurements to be carried out in the production area. Building on the success of the M 300 system, the M 400 features the same Bluetooth interface, making this mobile instrument optionally cable-free and mains-independent with long-life batteries.

Designed with usability in mind, as well as performance, the M 400 enables the user to access and probe difficult-to-reach surfaces without compromising measurement quality. However, if required, it can be expanded quickly and easily to a small stationery workstation using components from the Mahr range of accessories, such as the ST-G measuring stand. The drive unit provides free measurement with a highly precise probe system and offers 26mm of tracing length with a measurement speed of 1mm/s.

Furthermore, the drive unit features the BFW 250 magnetic probe-arm mounting system, which allows quick and trouble-free changeover while reducing the risk of damage. To add to the M 400's ease of operation, only a few seconds of setting time are needed, due to the motorised height adjustment of the drive unit and automatic zero positioning. The evaluation unit features a brilliant colour display and a simple menu structure.

All common surface-measurement parameters are available as per DIN/ISO, JIS and ASME standards, as well as many integrated languages. The integral thermo printer allows results to be made available instantly, although the onboard memory means that up to 40,000 results and up to 30 profiles can be stored for later evaluation. Mahr's Workstation Software is optionally available, allowing results to be stored and evaluated on a separate PC.
