System Enriches Metals with Black Magnetite Finish

A new three-minute video shows the low-temperature Tru Temp finishing process and compares it to conventional hot oxide, while giving manufacturers insight into how it is used in the real world. It shows typical products such as toolholders, couplings and transmission components being blackened by the Tru Temp system. Viewers see firsthand how simple and safe the system is to operate and how it produces a high-quality black magnetite finish on all types of iron and steel parts.

The video shows the Tru Temp immersion process, which includes seven fast steps: Clean, Rinse, Prime, Rinse, Blacken, Rinse and Seal. Parts are processed fast on racks, baskets and rotating barrels. The Tru Temp finish provides robust corrosion protection, adds sales appeal and doesn't affect part dimensions. Using the Tru Temp system provides users with same-day finishing where sending parts to an outside vendor takes five days or more.

That same-day turnaround is extremely important to product manufacturers competing in today's global economy. Tru Temp is a proven and safe non-polluting process. Because it operates below the boiling point, there are no splattering problems. It contains no EPA-regulated chemicals, meaning that little or no waste treatment is needed.

When selecting the proper fuse for short circuit protection in motor starting applications, it is important to not only ensure that the fuse will not nuisance open during motor start up times, but also that the fuse will coordinate as required with overload relays.
