Training for Thermal-Imaging Camera Operators

ITC, Flir's infrared training arm and authorised training organisation for the British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing, is to prepare thermal-imaging camera operators for Level 1 qualification. In addition to studying the basics of infrared and heat transfer, those attending the five-day courses will learn how to operate the camera under different conditions and for various purposes. Instruction will cover measurement tools and techniques and the identification of error sources such as reflective surfaces and sunlight.

On completion of the course, the camera user will be able to conduct thermal-imaging inspections to guidelines and create a report, complete with images. An ITC certification test is included and the student can also opt to take the Bindt Level 1 Thermography ISO18436 PCN exam. Bookings are now being taken for the following courses: 28 March to 1 April in Stockton-on-Tees; 28 March to 1 April in Cardiff; 11-15 April in Milton Keynes; 9-13 May in Aberdeen; and 13-17 June in Manchester.
