Video Demonstrates Bravo Liquid Handling Platform

Agilent Automation Solutions has released an online video that demonstrates its Bravo automated liquid handling platform together with a range of accessories. Applications for the Bravo platform include compound distribution, assay plate preparation, microplate replication, library reformatting, reagent addition, serial dilutions, DNA extraction as well as cell assays and screening.

Streamed from the Agilent website, the video demonstrates how the Bravo liquid handling platform delivers speed and versatility in a compact footprint. Its nine plate-position footprint has been designed to fit inside a standard laminar flow hood, enabling automated liquid handling for cell-based assays or hazardous reagent handling. The Bravo uses high-accuracy pipette heads for dispensing from 100nl to 200ul in 96-, 384-, and 1,536-well formats or to a single column or row of any of these plate types.

Pipette heads can be changed in minutes, and numerous plate-pad options are available to enable a range of assays. In addition, the open design of the Bravo platform permits access from all sides for simple integration with other devices and unencumbered standalone use. The Bravo is powered by Vworks Automation Control software with its event-driven scheduler, easy-to-use interface and error recovery technology, ensuring complete control is easy for all operators.
