Website Makes Machine Design Specification Simpler

Misumi US has launched its Modular Assembler Website, designed to help engineers reduce the time and effort it takes to select and specify common sets of mechanical components for specific functions. The site also offers customers fast 2D and 3D CAD downloads, as well as online ordering. It was developed to help machine-design engineers speed up the process of selecting and specifying frequently used mechanical component combinations used in manufacturing and assembling industrial machinery, motion control and factory automation systems.

The modules offered at the Modular Assembler Website are parts designed to perform and fulfil specific functions for specific purposes. Following is a snapshot of the Modular Assembler product set categories, the current number of modules in each, and a representative sampling of the component combinations offered in that category. The Rotary/Linear Motion category has 10 modules, including Timing Pulley and Belt Sets for conveyance, such as properly matched pulleys and belts.

The Positioning/Adjusting/Detecting category has nine modules, including a Shock Absorber Set that features a shock absorber and a stopper bolt. The Retention category has 20 modules, including the Device Stand Set that includes stand and clamp. The Connection category has seven modules, including the Floating Joint Set that features a connector and holder for floating joints in appropriately matched sizes.
