NDK has developed VCXO with the world's lowest phase noise characteristics for small cellular base stations

Nihon Dempa Kogyo Co., Ltd. (President : Hiroshi Takeuchi), has developed VCXO (Voltage-Controlled Crystal Oscillator) with the world's lowest phase noise characteristics for small cellular base stations, which is expected to meet the demand for increased high speed data communication.

This VCXO has realized phase noise(*) characteristics -128dBc/Hz @1kHz typ. (approximately 10dBc improvement), phase jitter 173fs typ. (greater than 60% improvement) by our proprietary circuit technology, which contributes to maintaining and improving communication quality. Also, it has small range of fluctuation when its oscillation frequency is changed by externally applied voltage (VC voltage) and has 16 alternative patterns of frequency control range to meet customers' request. Moreover, it realized high resiliency and low power consumption by including all the circuit parts in one IC chip.

When selecting the proper fuse for short circuit protection in motor starting applications, it is important to not only ensure that the fuse will not nuisance open during motor start up times, but also that the fuse will coordinate as required with overload relays.
