Sendix 2-Inch Stainless Steel Incremental Encoder Withstands Harsh Environments



Kubler by TURCK has expanded its encoder line to include the Sendix® 5006 2-inch incremental encoder, featuring a completely stainless steel housing and Viton® seals to resist corrosion and physical abuse in harsh plant environments. The Sendix 5006 incremental encoder can handle large fluctuations in temperature, from -40 to 85°C, and is IP67 rated when sealed.

 This encoder is available with ten pulse counts up to 5,000 PPR and with push-pull or RS422 outputs. It incorporates a proprietary Safety-Lock™ bearing assembly that has been tested to provide additional protection against vibration and installation errors.

 The Sendix 5006 incremental encoder is ideal for use in a wide variety of industries, including food packaging, pharmaceutical, chemical, oil and gas, as well as other challenging applications within corrosive environments or requiring long-term durability.

FUSE SIZING CONSIDERATIONS FOR HIGHER EFFICIENCY MOTORS

When selecting the proper fuse for short circuit protection in motor starting applications, it is important to not only ensure that the fuse will not nuisance open during motor start up times, but also that the fuse will coordinate as required with overload relays. When sizing fuses between 125% and 150% of the motor nameplate current, several advantages, including ease of coordination with an overload device, a smaller disconnect, and increased short circuit protection from a lower fuse rating, can be achieved.
